AT A GLANCE —JAIN TEMPLE– AT MILPITAS ,CALIFORNIA, USA.

IJ      This Jain Temple is a proud mixture of harmony and unity,as in Jain Bhawan had combined all Jain traditions–Shwetamber subdivisions,Digamber teachings under one roof.

It is a nice to see a 2400 sq.ft. of the space being used in many different ways.More than 5000(Five thosand) people attend the major religious functions every year.Industrial grade kitchen and dining Hall are fully utilized .Hundred of Jain volunteers work from early morning till late evening to make each function successful.Sunday morning (due to holiday )are filled with lively more than 500 young children following religious classes. The JCNC (Jain Centre of Northern California ) holds regular meditation classes and senior citizens also hold religious discussions on various subjects. This Jain Bhawan is a very popular place for social events in San Francisco Bay Area.
In this Jain Temple, the marble statues of all Jain Tirthankers are very beautiful and the architecture of the place is superb. This Temple is laid out as follows–Downstairs – A Satsang- Community room with adjoining kitchen -A library- Shower room- Shoe room( with separate rooms for men and women-and also bathrooms. As we enter from the main gate of the temple ,there is a white marble statue of Samavsharan of Bhagwan Mahavir swami ji.
This Jain Temple is only 18 miles from my daughter Gauri’s house. In the year 2015 I had the privilege to witness all the religious ceremonies at Jain temple in Milpatas with my wife.In my previous 5 visits of California ,we had also the privilege to participate in all the religious ceremonies of the Jain temple of the year 2015.We had attended the Paryushan Maha Parv ceremonies, which Started on Thursday 10th sep. to 19th sep.2015.We also attended many days of pravachan on Kalpsutra by Paras Bhai Shah.On Sunday 13th September,we attended the Sapna Cerimony which means  that there were 14 Dreams seen by Lord Mahavir’s mother Trisla. At this stage of the temple auditorium the
Womens depicted the 14 Dreams of mother Trisla, while moving in a processation carried the silver symbol of all the 14 Dreams .All the eight days of Paryushan Parv there was a regular Lunch and Dinner (Before Sun Set) arranged by the whole Jain Community. Mostly young members of the community worked vouluntarily and about 2000 to 2500 peoples approx. dine. It was really astonishing to see that even the president along with the other executive members of the Jain community volunteer  to pick the used food plates collected in a small bins and throw it in the bigger one. The seniors are given a lot of importance and they have a separate dining hall, where they can sit and eat comfortably.
