Know Jainism

Jainism is the oldest religion of India and its origin lies in India. Jainism is not a religion, it is a way of living life.Jain religion is based on the assumption that every being is creator of his own action and himself consumes the fruits of his action .The practice of Rright Belief , Right Knowledge and Right Conduct lead the devotee or worshipper to the right path and ultimate salvation.                                   It bows to five Supreme Benefactors,known as ( पंच परमेष्टी ) १.अरिहन्त Conqureor of Enimy,Arihant win over all evils of mankind like (काम,क्रोध ,मान,माया लोभ ) २. सिद्ध After achieving full emancipation ,soul become liberated. 3. आचार्य Who having mastered the sacred scriptures.                           ४.उपाध्याय Who having mastered the sacred scriptures and teach them to Saints andNuns in the Sangh. 5.सर्व साधु Who after renouncing the world and follow the path of salvation,live in jungles either in Sangh  or alone eat food and drink water only ones a day.                                                          The rituals of bowing to these five Supreme Benefactors is called Namokar Mantra (नमस्कार मंन्र)This is the single biggest ritual in the Jain Philosophy and considered to be most sacred and if pounced  with pure mind and words,is the cause of leading meritorious life. It contains 35 letters.                       Jainism also has Five small Vows ( पाँच अणुव्रत ) १. Non- violence ( अहिंसा ) २. Truthfulness (सत्य )।               ३. Non- Stealing ( अचौर्य ) ४. Chastity ( ब्रह्मचर्य ) ५. Non- Possession ( अपरिग्रह )।
